According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-June 2021 amounted to 210 122 464 thousand denars, a 39.1% increase compared to the same period last year.
The value of imported goods in the same period was 286 095 298 thousand denars, or 38.7% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January-June 2021 was 75 972 834 thousand denars.
Import coverage by export in the period January-June 2021 was 73.4%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and ferronickel. In the imports, the most significant products are other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, ceramic wares for laboratory, chemical or other technical uses, platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form and petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude).
In the period January-June 2021, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Serbia, Greece and China.
Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-June 2021 amounted to 3 408 966 thousand euros, a 39.1% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 4 641 495 thousand euros, or 38.7% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-June 2021 was 1 232 529 thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-June 2021 amounted to 4 107 745 thousand US dollars, a 51.8% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 5 591 597 thousand US dollars, or 51.5% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-June 2021 was 1 483 852 thousand US dollars.
