According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia
in the period January-February 2022 amounted to 75 047 029 thousand denars, a 13.5% increase compared to the same period last
year. The value of imported goods in the same period was 110 320 659 thousand denars, or 30.6% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January-February 2022 was 35 273 630 thousand denars.
Import coverage by export in the period January-February 2022 was 68.0%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or
precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships,
ferro-nickel and parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1. In the imports, the most significant products are electricity, other metals of the
platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other
than crude), platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form.
In the period January-February 2022, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic
of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia.
Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-February 2022
amounted to 1 216 429 thousand euros, a 13.4% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in
the same period was 1 788 187 thousand euros, or 30.5% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-
February 2022 was 571 759 thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-February 2022 amounted to 1 378 489
thousand US dollars, a 5.9% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was
2 026 965 thousand US dollars, or 22.0% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-February 2022
was 648 476 thousand US dollars.
