According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia
in the period January-March 2022 amounted to 119 642 988 thousand denars, a 16.8% increase compared to the same period last year.
The value of imported goods in the same period was 174 829 888 thousand denars, or 29.4% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January-March 2022 was 55 186 899 thousand denars.
Import coverage by export in the period January-March 2022 was 68.4%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or
precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships,
ferro-nickel and parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1. In the imports, the most significant products are electricity, petroleum oils and oils
obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder
form, platinum and colloidal precious metals; compounds, inorganic or organic, of precious metals, whether or not chemically defined;
amalgams of precious metals.
In the period January-March 2022, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of
North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia.
External trade expressed in euros and US dollars
Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-March 2022
amounted to 1 939 273 thousand euros, a 16.7% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in
the same period was 2 833 801 thousand euros, or 29.3% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-
March 2022 was 894 528 thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-March 2022 amounted to 2 174 918
thousand US dollars, an 8.6% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period
was 3 179 492 thousand US dollars, or 20.4% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-March 2022
was 1 004 574 thousand US dollars.
