According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-July 2022 amounted to 293 948 338 thousand denars, a 19.4% increase compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period was 426 257 913 thousand denars, or 26.9% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January-July 2022 was 132 309 574 thousand denars.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, ferro-nickel and parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1. In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, electricity and colloidal precious metals; compounds, inorganic or organic, of precious metals, whether or not chemically defined; amalgams of precious metals.
In the period January-July 2022, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria.
External trade expressed in euros and US dollars
Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-July 2022 amounted to 4 767 002 thousand euros, a 19.3% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 6 912 713 thousand euros, or 26.9% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-July 2022 was 2 145 711 thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-July 2022 amounted to 5 158 724 thousand US dollars, a 7.4% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 7 485 267 thousand US dollars, or 14.3% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January-July 2022 was 2 326 543 thousand US dollars.
