According to the definitive data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of Macedonia in the period January - December 2014 amounted to 230 893 275 thousand denars, a 15.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period was 339 222 363 thousand denars, or 10.5% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January - December 2014 was 108 329 087 thousand denars.
Import coverage by export in the period January - December 2014 was 68.1%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ferro-nickel, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, iron and steel products (flat-rolled products) and clothes. In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), the platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, electricity and other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form.
In the period January - December 2014, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Italy.

Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of Macedonia in the period January -December 2014 amounted to 3 746 608 thousand euros, a 15.8% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 5 504 524 thousand euros, or 10.5% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January - December 2014 was 1 757 916 thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of Macedonia in the period January - December 2014 amounted to 4 964 132 thousand US dollars, a 15.5% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 7 301 370 thousand US dollars, or 10.3% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January - December 2014 was 2 337 238 thousand US dollars.
