According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of Macedonia
in January 2017 amounted to 19 903 303 thousand denars, an 11.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The value
of imported goods in the same period was 26 847 907 thousand denars, or 23.0% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in January 2017 was 6 944 604 thousand denars.
Import coverage by export in January 2017 was 74.1%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious
metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles,
aircraft or ships, ferro-nickel and clothes. In the imports, the most significant products are the platinum and platinum alloys,
unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of
the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form and electricity.
In January 2017, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of Macedonia
were Germany, Greece, Great Britain, China and Serbia.

Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of Macedonia in January 2017 amounted to 323 182
thousand euros, a 12.1% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period
was 436 216 thousand euros, or 23.2% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in January 2017 was 113 035
thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of Macedonia in January 2017 amounted to 343 784 thousand US dollars, a
9.6% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 463 628 thousand
US dollars, or 20.4% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in January 2017 was 119 844 thousand US dollars.
