International trade volume of the Republic of Macedonia,
January-December 2010

According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Offce, the export value of goods in the Republic of Macedonia
in the period January-December 2010 was 3 301 829 thousand US dollars, and the import value was 5 450 669
thousands US dollars. Import coverage by export was 60.6%. The trade defcit in the period January-December 2010
was 2 148 839 thousand US dollars.
The trade exchange according to products shows that in the exports the most signifcant products are iron and steel
products (fat-rolled products), clothes, ferro-nickel and petroleum oil preparations. In the imports, the most signifcant
products are the crude petroleum oils, motor vehicles for transport of persons and electricity.
In the period January-December 2010 the most important export partners were the EU-27 countries (61.3%) and the
West Balkan countries (30.8%), and the most important import partners were the EU-27 countries (53.1%) and the
Developing countries (27.7%). According to the total volume of international commodity trade, the most important
trade partners of the Republic of Macedonia are Germany, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria and Russia (44.1% of the total
international commodity trade).
