According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-February 2019 amounted to 58 104 882 thousand denars, a 6.8% increase compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period was 76 641 783 thousand denars, or 9.3% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January-February 2019 was 18 536 901 thousand denars.
Import coverage by export in the period January-February 2019 was 75.8%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and motor vehicles for the transport of 10 or more persons, including the driver, with compressionignition internal combustion engine (diesel or semi-diesel). In the imports, the most significant products are the platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form and ceramic wares for laboratory, chemical or other technical uses.
In the period January-February 2019, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Italy.

Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-February 2019 amounted to 944 181 thousand euros, a 6.9% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 1 245 393 thousand euros, or 9.4% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period JanuaryFebruary 2019 was 301 212 thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-February 2019 amounted to 1 075 052 thousand US dollars, a 1.0% decrease compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 1 416 730 thousand US dollars, or 1.3% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-February 2019 was 341 678 thousand US dollars.
