According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-April 2019 amounted to 126 932 834 thousand denars, a 15.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period was 169 169 114 563 thousand denars, or 14.2% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January-April 2019 was 42 181 729 thousand denars.
Import coverage by export in the period January-April 2019 was 75.1%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and motor vehicles for the transport of 10 or more persons, including the driver, with compressionignition internal combustion engine (diesel or semi-diesel). In the imports, the most significant products are the platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form and ceramic wares for laboratory, chemical or other technical uses.
In the period January-April 2019, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Italy.

Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-April 2019 amounted to 2 063 275 thousand euros, a 16.0% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 2 749 025 thousand euros, or 14.2% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-April 2019 was 685 749 thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-April 2019 amounted to 2 335 520 thousand US dollars, a 6.8 % increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 3 111 373 thousand US dollars, or 5.1% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-April 2019 was 775 853 thousand US dollars.
