According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-September 2019 amounted to 294 523 592 thousand denars, a 13.2% increase compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period was 378 291 909 thousand denars, or 11.4% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January- September 2019 was 83 768 317 thousand denars.
Import coverage by export in the period January- September 2019 was 77.9%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and ferro-nickel. In the imports, the most significant products are the platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude) and ceramic wares for laboratory, chemical or other technical uses.
In the period January-September 2019, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Italy.
Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January- September 2019 amounted to 4 788 561 thousand euros, a 13.2% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 6 150 568 thousand euros, or 11.4% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period JanuarySeptember 2019 was 1 362 007 thousand euros.
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January- September 2019 amounted to 5 377 820 thousand US dollars, a 6.5% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 6 910 889 thousand US dollars, or 4.8% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January- September 2019 was 1 533 069 thousand US dollars.
