Internatonal trade volume, January - December 2011

According to the preliminary data of the State Statstcal Ofce, the export value of goods in the Republic of Macedonia in the period January-December 2011 was 4 455 375 thousand US dollars, and the import value was 7 007 251 thousand US dollars. Import coverage by export was 63.6%. The trade defcit in the period January-December 2011 was 2 551 876 thousand US dollars.
The trade exchange according to products shows that in the exports the most signifcant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the actve substance, ferro-nickel, iron and steel products (fat-rolled products), clothes, and petroleum oil preparatons. In the imports, the most signifcant products are platnum and platnum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, the crude petroleum oils, motor vehicles for transport of persons and electricity.
In the period January-December 2011, the most important export partners were the EU-27 countries (60.6%) and the West Balkan countries (27.6%), and the most important import partners were the EU-27 countries (54.3%) and the Developing countries (26.8%). According to the total volume of internatonal commodity trade, the most important trade partners of the Republic of Macedonia are Germany, Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria and Russia (44.2% of the total internatonal commodity trade).
