The international trade volume of the Republic of Macedonia in the
period January-February 2010 increased by 1.8% in comparison with the
international trade volume in the same period in 2009

According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the export value of goods in the Republic of Macedonia in the period January-February 2010 was 401 019 thousand US dollars, and the import value was 680 893 thousand US dollars. Import coverage by export was 58.9%. The trade deficit in the period January-February 2010 was 279 875 thousand US dollars.
The trade exchange by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are iron and steel products (flat-rolled products), clothes, ferro-nickel and petroleum oil preparations. In the imports, the most significant products are crude petroleum oils, electricity and motor vehicles for transport of persons.
In the period January-February 2010 the most important export partners were the EU-27 countries (63.8%) and the West Balkan countries (29.3%), and the most important import partners were the EU-27 countries (47.5%) and the Developing countries (33.2%). According to the total volume of international commodity trade, the most important trade partners of the Republic of Macedonia are Germany, Russia, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria (45.9% of the total
international commodity trade exchange).
