The international trade volume of the Republic of Macedonia in the period
January - September 2010 increased by 11.1% in comparison with the
international trade volume in the same period in 2009

According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the export value of goods in the Republic of Macedonia
in the period January-September 2010 was 2 328 025 thousand US dollars, and the import value was 3 801 062
thousands US dollars. Import coverage by export was 61.2%. The trade deficit in the period January-September 2010
was 1 473 037 thousand US dollars.
The trade exchange according to products shows that in the exports the most significant products are iron and steel
products (flat-rolled products), clothes, ferro-nickel and petroleum oil preparations. In the imports, the most significant
products are the crude petroleum oils, motor vehicles for transport of persons and electricity.
In the period January-September 2010 the most important export partners were the EU-27 countries (61.2%) and
the West Balkan countries (31.6%), and the most important import partners were the EU-27 countries (52.6%) and
the Developing countries (28.1%). According to the total volume of international commodity trade, the most important
trade partners of the Republic of Macedonia are Germany, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria and Russia (43.9% of the total
international commodity trade).
