Enterprise births, 2018
According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in 2018, were recorded 6 307 enterprise births which is 9.1% of the total number of active enterprises whose main activity according to the National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.2 is in the sectors of activity from B to S[1]). In comparison with the previous year, the number of enterprise births decreased by 0.2%.
The biggest share (79%) of the enterprise births were recorded in services activities, among them the most in Wholesale and retail trade repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector (1 686), followed by Manufacturing (780), Other service activities (760), Accommodation and food service activities (650) and Professional, Scientific and technical activities (637). 13,3% of enterprise births were recorded in industry while 7,7% in construction.
The data on the structure of the enterprise births by legal form show that the highest share belongs to enterprises categorized according to their legal form as limited liability companies and joint stock companies (69.9%).
Enterprise deaths, 2018, preliminary data
Of the total number of active enterprises, in 2018, 7.0% i.e. 4 885 enterprise deaths were recorded.
Reviewed by activity sector, the biggest share (34.9%) of the enterprise deaths belongs to Wholesale and retail trade repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector and according to their legal form, the highest share of enterprise deaths (73.7%) belongs to those categorized as limited liability companies and joint stock companies.
Enterprise births in 2013-2017 still operating in 2018
Almost half of the enterprise births in 2013, (45.1%) were still operating in 2018. The greatest survival rate is observed among the enterprise births, in the Human health and social work activities sector (79.7%), Education (69.4%) and Professional, scientific and technical activities (66.7%).
52.9% from the enterprises births in 2014, survived in 2018, 63.3% in 2015, 72.8% in 2016 and 88.3% in 2017.
