Utilisation and protection of water against pollution in industry, 2023

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the total amount of water abstracted by industrial enterprises in 2023 was 5 409

million m3, in which the share of section D - Electricity, gas, stream and air conditioning supply was the highest with 99.2%.

According to the source of water supply to enterprises, the largest amount of water was supplied from surface water, 49.9%.

The total amount of water used in 2023 was 2 727 million m3. Compared to 2022, the total amount of used water in 2022 increased by

25.3%.

Of the total discharged wastewater in 2023, 12.3% was purified.
