Retail Price Index and Consumer Price Index, December 2013

Announcement for the users

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in December 2013, in comparison with the previous month,
was 100.4, while the Consumer Price Index was 100.3.
In 2013, in comparison with 2012, the Retail Price Index registered an increase by 1.3%, while the Consumer Price Index increased
by 2.8%.

The movement of the Retail Price Index in 2013 was different by certain groups of products.
An increase of indices has been registered in the groups: Agricultural products by 6.4%, Food industrial products and Beverages
by 2.7%, Non-food industrial products by 0.8% and Services by 0.4%.
The movement of the Consumer Price Index in 2013 was different by various groups of consumption, as well.
An increase has been registered in the groups: Clothing and footwear by 6.9%, Hygiene and health by 4.7%, Restaurants and
hotels by 3.9%, Food by 3.6%, Tobacco and beverages by 3.0%, Household furnishings by 1.5%, Fuel and lighting by 1.1%, Culture
and entertainment by 0.9%, Miscellaneous services n.e.c by 0.7% and Flat (rent, water and other services) by 0.6%.
A decrease of indices has been registered in the group Transport and communication services by 0.8%.
The Retail Price Index in December 2013, compared to December 2012, increased by 0.7%, while the Consumer Price Index
increased by 1.4%.

The Retail Price Index in December 2013, in comparison with the previous month, increased by 0.4%.
As a result of the retail price movements, the increase of the Consumer Price Index by 0.3% in December 2013, in comparison
with the previous month, is a result of the higher indices of vegetables by 7.6%, processed milk by 0.4%, fresh and sour milk by
0.3% and processed vegetables by 0.2%.
Also, an increase of the Consumer Price Index was registered in package holidays by 3.0%, liquid fuels and gas for households by
2.7%, oil derivatives by 1.3%, personal care articles by 0.5%, footwear by 0.3% and spare parts of transport vehicles by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in December 2013, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fruit by
4.3%, alcoholic beverages by 0.7% and fish by 0.5%.
In December, there was also a decrease of the indices of accommodation services by 5.7%, passenger transport by air by 5.4%,
household appliances by 0.3% and beverages in restaurants and hotels by 0.2%.
