Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in December 2022

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in December 2022, standing at
14.0, is 0.3 percentage points lower compared to November 2022 and 0.4 percentage points lower compared to December 2021.
The situation with the current volume of production orders in December 2022 is less favourable compared to the previous month, the
expectations for the production volume for the next three months are less favourable while the stocks of finished goods are increased.
The estimation of the economic situation is less satisfactory compared to the previous month and less satisfactory compared to
December 2021. The number of employees is expected to decrease.
The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in December 2022 decreased to 67.2% of normal utilization.
The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in December 2022 were: shortage of skilled labour with
21.7%, insufficient foreign demand with 16.1%, uncertainty of the economic environment with 16.0% and insufficient domestic demand
with 11.9%.
