Business tendencies in retail trade, fourth quarter of 2019

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in retail trade in the fourth quarter of 2019 is 0.3 percentage points higher compared to the previous one, and 0.5 percentage points higher compared to the same quarter of 2018.
The economic situation is more favourable in the fourth quarter of 2019 compared to the third quarter of 2019, as well as more favourable compared to the same quarter of 2018. It is also expected to be more favourable for the next two quarters.
The quantity of the current stocks hasve slightly decreased compared to the previous quarter.
The financial situation in the fourth quarter of 2019 is more favourable compared to the previous one of 2019.
The expectations for the orders for the next period are that they will increase and the number of employees is expected to decrease. The selling prices in the fourth quarter of 2019 have decreased compared to the previous quarter, and they are expected to be stable in the next three months.
The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the business situation of the business entities in the fourth quarter of 2019 were: shortage of competent staff with 23.9%, increased competition with 19.1 %, increased labour expenditures with 17.6% and low demand with 16.6%.
