Mortality in the Republic of North Macedonia, 2023- final data

According to the State Statistical Office data, there were 20187 deaths in the Republic of North Macedonia in 2023, which represents
a decrease of 10.1% compared with previous year. The structure by sex, shows higher male participation, 10640 or 52.7% of the total
number of deaths. The number of infant deaths was 30 and the participation of infant deaths in the total number of deaths was 0.1%
(per 100 deaths).
By months, most (1976) deaths were in ?anuary.
The average age of deaths was 72.1 years for males and 76.5 years for females, which means that women outlive men by 4.4 years on
average.
?ost deaths by (ICD-IX), were due to circulatory diseases (I00-I99), which up to 43.8% of total number of deaths, neoplasms (C00-D48)
with 18.6%, while with 7.2% were deaths due endocrine, nutritional and metabolic diseases (E00-E90), the deaths due to respiratory
system diseases (J00-J99) with 4.7%, and the others with lower participation.
