National Nomenclature of Industrial Products, 2013
For ensuring production of statistical data according to defined standards it is necessary to apply statistical classifications. The process of harmonisation of Macedonian statistics with European statistical standards is marked by the adoption and implementation of European statistical methodologies, nomenclatures and classifications.
In this system of classifications, the National Nomenclature of Industrial Products NNIP is of great significance. In 2000, the State Statistical Office adopted the first National Nomenclature of Industrial Products NNIP, which was harmonised with European standards. However, the adoption of the new version of the European nomenclature - PRODCOM 2005 imposed the need to revise the current NNIP. By adopting the National Nomenclature of Industrial Products 2005, full harmonisation was achieved with the Combined Nomenclature for Foreign Trade. The big changes in the structure of the European classification NACE Rev. 2 were the reason for the changes in the new National Nomenclature of Industrial products 2008 (NNIP 2008). In 2013, the SSO harmonised the new version of NNIP 2008 with PRODCOM List 2012, and because changes in the PRODCOM List according to EU regulations are made annually, the SSO will follow this practice starting from 2013.
NNIP 2013 contains standard codes and descriptions of activities, grouped at the level of sectors, divisions and descriptions of industrial products and services, sorted according to the codes of the products in ascending order.
The application of NNIP 2013 in the Republic of Macedonia as a national nomenclature is regulated by its adoption by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and its publication in the "Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia" No. 83/14.
